Charlotte, NC  •  Independent Strategic Advisory

Independent advice from someone who has been on both sides of the table.

BCG advises financial institutions on strategy, talent, and commercial growth, and business owners on capital structure, bank selection, and lender negotiations. No commissions. No product agenda. Clear thinking built around your objectives.

Who We Help

One firm. Two distinct perspectives.

BCG works with the people leading financial institutions and the business owners who depend on them. That perspective from both sides of the table produces practical, credible advice.

For Financial Institutions

Community and regional banks that need a senior-level commercial banking perspective without adding to overhead.

BCG works with bank leadership teams on strategy, sales culture, and talent. Having led commercial markets at Regions, Aquesta, and New Republic Bank, Jeff brings direct experience with what it takes to compete for commercial clients, build pipeline accountability, and develop or recruit the right people.

Engagements are structured around your specific challenge or opportunity, from a focused market strategy session to an ongoing advisory relationship.

For Commercial Businesses

Closely held businesses and family companies making high-stakes decisions about capital, credit, and banking relationships.

Most business owners approach banks from a position of uncertainty. They are not sure whether their capital structure is right, whether their lender is the best fit, or whether their loan package is as strong as it could be. BCG levels that playing field.

With more than $1.5 billion in commercial loans originated, Jeff has seen every type of credit request and knows exactly what lenders look for, where deals fall apart, and how to position your business for the best possible outcome.

Where BCG Adds Value

  • Capital structure analysis and refinancing strategy
  • Bank selection and RFP process management
  • C&I and CRE transaction preparation
  • Growth capital strategy and lender negotiations
  • Ongoing banking relationship advisory

About Jeff Brinkman

35+ years inside banking. Now working for you.

A career built in commercial banking, market leadership, team development, and complex client relationships now provides BCG clients with an experienced advocate on their side of the table.

I have spent more than 35 years in commercial banking, building relationships, leading teams, and delivering results across some of the country's most competitive markets.

My career began at KeyBank in Ohio in 1989, progressing from credit analysis through treasury management and relationship management. That foundation shaped how I view banking: not as a product sale, but as a long-term business partnership.

I later built a healthcare banking vertical for Fifth Third across three states, led the Charlotte commercial market for Regions, restructured commercial banking at Aquesta, and served as Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer at New Republic Bank.

Through Brinkman Consulting Group, I bring that experience directly to financial institutions seeking an objective outside perspective and commercial businesses that need a trusted advisor.
